Native Habitat Garden

Pascoe Vale Girls College, Melbourne, Australia

Works began May 2019

A previously overgrown and neglected area the goal was to create a welcoming entrance to the school with clear lines of sight.
We used Indigenous and Native plantings to provide habitat and shelter for wildlife. This area continues down to the neighbouring Westbreen Creek.

Predominantly indigenous grasses and wildflower meadow plantings are used in this area.
The open backed sleeper wall captures excess rainfall from the surrounding asphalt car park to be stored in the garden

Works done in collaboration with teacher Mr Anthony Freeman and Outdoor Education students. With thanks for the support of Principal Ms Kay Peddle,
